That's TotalTechPicks. Not a content studio. Not a media company. Just a DevOps engineer who's tired of sites that bury the actual answer in 3,000 words of padding — and wanted something straightforward to exist.
The philosophy
Spending more doesn't automatically mean getting better — that's the whole point of this site. I'd rather buy something once and have it be right than buy cheap and replace it in a year. But I've also been burned by expensive gear that wasn't worth it. TotalTechPicks exists to help you tell the difference.

I'm a DevOps engineer running 3 computers off a single 57" monitor and one keyboard. I spend probably too much time thinking about whether a product is actually worth what it costs — and now that obsession has a website. Every review here carries my name because I stand behind the picks.
My hot take: most people wildly overspend on keyboards and mice. If you're not a competitive gamer, a wired setup with basic switches works perfectly and costs a fraction of the price. RGB does nothing except look cool. (I still bought the clicky wireless keyboard. My wife works from home now and deeply regrets that decision.)
I also think the phone upgrade cycle is one of the biggest scams in consumer tech. Two-year-old flagship phones are genuinely fine. The manufacturers just need you to believe otherwise.

We dig into spec sheets, chipsets, driver history, and real-world benchmarks — not the box quote. If a manufacturer says '10 hours battery life' we check what testers actually get.
Value Is Non-Negotiable
A $200 mouse is only good if it performs like a $200 mouse. We evaluate everything against its price point and its competition. No free passes for brand names.
Build Quality Matters
We look at materials, weight, cable quality, hinge mechanisms, and durability signals. A product that falls apart in six months is a bad product at any price.
Who Actually Uses This?
We contextualize picks for specific use cases — competitive gaming, remote work, content creation, EDC. The 'best overall' pick might not be best for you specifically.
Amazon Reviews Are a Signal, Not the Verdict
We analyze review patterns, look for recurring complaints, check Q&A sections, and cross-reference with editorial sources. 4.7 stars means nothing if 40% of reviews mention the same flaw.

Reddit feedback is quoted with sources
An automated pipeline pulls real comment threads about our picks from relevant subreddits every few hours, summarizes what owners actually said — complaints included — and links the source thread so you can verify.
Listings are verified nightly
Every product's Amazon listing is re-verified automatically each night, so the guides only ever show products that are in stock and purchasable today.
